Altered Rolodex Cards make me happy!

My art friend April Cole has done it again. Made me very very happy that is. Because she traded with me, another altered rolodex card. She created this lovely art card which you can see here.
Along with this precious tidbit she sent me a whack of papers and charming bits and pieces to use in my own art. Have a look:
Oh how happy I am to have this wheel slowly filling up with fun lucious happy art!
You can see the front side of the card as it appears in the wheel. The back side contains the image of the bee.
So a tip o' the hat goes out to April today. Thanks for dropping in and I hope to see you soon, *smiles* Norma

    1. Me too. I am so looking forward to using these papers. There's nothing like using someone else's stash to really get the creative juices flowing hey? I've already got the seed of an idea for about 4 altered rolodex cards. We'll see what unfolds with them. Have a nice day, *smiles* Norma

  7. Beautiful card Norma. This is something I never altered but I just love how they are set up in the rolodex. You could have an art card every day then turn it around to continue the other side. Portable and great storage.
You are one lucky girl and look at the other goodies too.
    Enjoy. Lesley♥

    1. Les, what is particularly great is now I can use some of this stash and make something for the gal who sent it to me. She'll be surprised at how things were put together in ways that she may not have done. I really like the idea of just turning the rolodex wheel around and going in the opposite direction. Simple! Brilliant! Wouldn't it be fun to have a 'convention'...an altered rolodex card convention where folk could convene and bring their filled up wheels and do a show and tell and just see others' collection of art cards. In my dreams...*smiles* N. xo

p.s. are you doing anything in the way of 'Halloween' and in particular something with a safety pin through an eyeball? If you do, will you let me know? You are the QUEEN of fabulous scary, art friend.

    1. Now, Nadine! You know that I will be putting a little stash of cards into the mails to you just as soon as I can. I'd be over the moon if you made a card for me. Yes, I love this idea! N. xo
p.s. I was actually wondering if so called standard business cards are the same size world wide, and if rolodex wheels and card holders are (were) in world wide use. They are definitely a North American thing. Rolodex cards come in differing sizes and the size I use for the altered art cards are for the wheel that was meant to hold business cards and the rolodex cards themselves are specifically 2.25"X4". That's what I'll send to you but I was thinking that if you want to start your own collection, I'll gussy up a card for you in return...and I have a spare card holder tray if you'd be interested. I could send that to you.Talk soon, N. xo

    1. Kristen, once you start looking for them (second hand stores and even yard sales) they do pop up. When I first started looking it took months of going to Value Village every week and sometimes twice a week. Then after I scored my first one, it seems I found one every second month. Now I pass them by. Crazy hey? N. xo
